Letter s
Dear Smoke Signals,
I am sending in this letter to let you know that there is yet another
positive addition to Tribal Housing on Tyee Road.
Something I've been pushing for has been installed to let drivers know
just how fast they are going: The new traffic signs are a positive addition
because too many people are speeding up and down that road. I watched
as many were registering an average of 35 mph in a 25 mph zone.
I’ve been pushing to have the speed lowered to 10 or 15 mph as no one
needs to be going over that limit with so many kids running around and
not looking both ways.
Kids on bikes are racing around, many without helmets and not looking
both ways before crossing the road. I have already personally seen two
dogs get hit. One needed surgery and the other, unfortunately, was killed.
I hate to be blunt, but what will it take before they (housing, Tribal
Council) do something to lower the speed limit? Will it take a Tribal
Elder, member or child getting hit and seriously injured or killed before
something is done?

Dear Smoke Signals,
I’d like to thank everyone who kept an eye out for “Cash” aka Cooper,
sharing photos of his whereabouts. Thanks to the Great Spirit, he has
found his forever home.
P.S. Thanks CTGR Council. I thank you every time I drive up Grand
Ronde Road.
