Ron Lee Martin Sept. 4, 1974 – Sept. 13, 2023 Tribal member Ron Lee Martin passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2023, at the age of 49 at his home in Grand Ronde. A lover of sports and music, if he wasn’t watching a game, you can bet his stereo was on loud. The love of sports was passed on from his dad and a few of his favorite teams were Notre Dame and the New York Jets. Music, specifically rock ‘n’ roll and metal, fueled him. Ronnie was a huge fan of Kiss, as well as Slayer and Static-X to name a few. He was a lover of dogs and had many over his life; he left behind his sweet dog Sugar. He had lots of jobs over the years, but the one he seemed to love the most was in the laundry room. Ronnie will be deeply missed by his longtime love and mother of his child, Jennifer Harper; his child, the pride and joy of his life, Kiara Marie Martin; his widowed mother, Kathy Martin; his brothers, Kenneth Martin, Myron “Junior” Martin and Chris Martin, and their respective families. The Martin family is large. There are many nieces, nephews, extended members and chosen family that will remember and tell stories of Ronnie for years to come. Everyone who speaks of Ronnie mentions two things: His massive heart that wanted to love and care for so many people, especially when they were struggling, and his “take no @#$%” attitude. He would take you into his home and fight off anyone when needed. Ronnie was most definitely greeted on the other side by his father, Myron Martin; his friend and beloved cousin, Elijah Jake; and his grandmother, Vivian Martin. A celebration of life was held at the Tribal gym on Friday, Sept. 22. Attendees were asked to wear their favorite Kiss shirt or concert shirt. Bollman’s Tribute Center in Dallas, Ore., was in charge of arrange- ments. Memories can be shared at www.bollmanstributecenter.com for the Martin family.
