Canoe naming chicha, chinuk wawa for <grandma,= was the name given to the Wellness canoe during a naming ceremony held at achaf-hammi plank- house on Saturday, May 20. Almost 100 people attended the event to celebrate the canoe, healing in the community and to welcome the canoe to the community. The Health & Wellness Center commissioned Tribal member Brian Krehbiel to build the canoe to bring culture into the clinic. Dinner, drumming, singing and dancing followed the nam- ing ceremony.
