sNok signflz JUNE 1, 2021 Willamina High School fetes 51 graduates on Saturday, May 29 By Dean Rhodes Smoke Signals editor WILLAMINA – Willamina High School graduated 51 seniors during ceremonies held 1 p.m. Saturday, May 29, on the Oaken Hills cam- pus. Admission to the event was by ticket only. However, a livestream of the graduation ceremony was available on the Willamina School District YouTube channel. After graduation, there was a parade through Willamina. Willamina Middle School will hold its promotion exercise at 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 2. Admis- sion will be limited to students who are being promoted and their families. n St. Michael’s offers brunch St. Michael’s Catholic Church offers an open house brunch every Sunday following Mass. The brunch is free to the community. Brunch begins at about 11:30 a.m. following the 10:30 a.m. Mass. Mass atten- dance is not required for brunch attendance. For more information or for kitchen and hall rental, contact Janelle Justen at 503-550-0923. n ODOT open house seeks input The Oregon Department of Transportation is hosting an online open house at www.odotopenhouse.org/or-18-and-22-road-improvement that is seeking input on an upcoming project to improve safety and relieve congestion on Oregon highways 18 and 22. The open house is seeking solutions for the stretch of highway between the eastern portion of the Van Duzer Corridor and Steel Bridge Road east of Wallace Bridge. Current planning and design aims to improve safety and mobility on both highways, support community and economic development in the area, and improve the route for use during emergency situations.
