NOTICE — Monthly Tribal Council Wednesday Meetings DATE TIME Wednesday, April 21..........................................................................10 a.m. Wednesday, May 5.............................................................................10 a.m. Please note that these times and dates are subject to change if needed. Letter s Dear Smoke Signals: In this time of grief with our loss of Ken Haller, we want to thank you for your thoughts and prayers. With the overwhelming kind words and support of family and friends, we find our hearts healing. It helps to know that we are thought of by others. The Grand Ronde Tribe and community support has strengthened our spirits during this difficult time. We are blessed. Sandra Haller & family Dear Smoke Signals: I would like to figure out why the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde just threw me away like yesterday’s garbage. I have done a lot for this Tribe since I got here in 2008. I worked with you all on Elder Honor Days. We made things every year for all these people, and I helped with Resto- ration every year also. I have made things for Wellness and I was a secret Santa a couple years. I have done a lot of good and when it comes to me asking for help I get very little. I have not done anything bad, but you have. I was put up in the hotel for 12 days. Thank you. Then I paid for the rest of the month. Then I stayed outside for a few weeks. Then you paid for Motel 6 for four days; not an ADA unit. I paid for the rest of two weeks. I have proof of all this money out of my pocket. I got kicked out off of the casino property at 10:30 p.m. and was told not to go over to the store or stay on the property. I was to go somewhere away from their property so I am on the highway in my wheelchair at 10:30 at night. No lights, no protection of any kind, but I could have been hit by a truck or a car. I just want what is due to me. The Tribe owes me $3,850 for motel and hotel bills. This is all I want from you all. I have a place now and I am in a safe place. Nobody knows and nobody cares. Please give me my money back. That is all I am asking.
