Dear Tribal Members, Here are five specific legislative goals to accomplish:
The Big Five:
•
Expand our Services: New programs like Small Loans, a Foreclosure Prevention Grant, and Rental
Assistance for First Month/Last Month/Deposit. Technology Allowance for laptop or PC purchase.
•
Continue to Inform our Membership: Take advantage of new and innovative online media tools like
podcasts, videos, and web-based conference apps like Facebook Live, Zoom, and others.
•
Expand and Enhance the Rights of Members: Continue to increase the Right of Access to information
for Tribal members, and amend our Constitution to enhance the basic rights of Tribal Members beyond voting,
make Constitutional rights more realistic to exercise.
•
Focus on Sustainability: Continue to invest in sustainable initiatives, tribally-owned businesses, and
overall government practices.
ವ Enrollment: Revisit the 1999 amendment. Enact equality in enrollment requirements, and resolve the “split
family” issue. Address the dwindling blood quantum and population growth issues.
