Activity boxes coming this July!
Here’s the scoop!
The Youth Education Department is excited to offer Native students activity boxes to replace onsite programming
for the month of July. Each week will follow a theme and will include fun projects to work on from home. Information
and links will be provided for students to hop on the Internet to watch a short instructional video for each activity.
Dropoff, Pick up and Delivery
Every Monday, an activity hihi-lakHaset (box) will be either delivered to the students doorstep (Grand Ronde,
Willamina, Sheridan area) or there will be a central pick up location. Tribal member students living out of
the area can participate in this too! We want to connect with you and have you be a part of this experience.
Boxes will be mailed to you.
Intake Policy
The Youth Education Department will accept registration with the Tribal intake preference
policy (4 tier system.) Parents and students will be notified prior to boxes being delivered.
LIVE on Zoom
Every Thursday, the K5 and 6-12 team will go “live” on Zoom to connect with youth to chat about the
projects they worked on and how they are doing.
Prizes
There will be amazing prizes given away for students who participate in the Zoom
“chat with the staff” sessions and show their activities through our social media sites.
How many weeks will this be offered?
This will be a four-week program through the month of July
Can I sign up for all four weeks at once?
Yes! However if plans change, please email YED
so that we can prep and process the activity hihi-lakHaset(box).
How do I sign up? It’s simple!
All you do is click on the links below to register for either the K5 Program or the 6-12 Program.
Are there limited openings and timelines to register?
Yes, there are limited openings, early registration is encouraged! Registration deadline is June 30th.
Students accepted into the program will receive an email confirmation by July 2nd.
