Transit times changing on Sept. 4
The Coastal Connector 60X will be leaving earlier from Lincoln City and
that will affect departure times throughout the schedule.
The other signifi cant change is that both 60X and 70X (Grand Ronde
Express) will be using Salem Downtown Transit Mall’s bay “S.” These
changes will take effect on Sept. 4.

Elders Fishing Trip set for Sept. 26
The second Elders Fishing Trip of 2018 will be held on Wednesday,
Sept. 26, with a journey to Hagg Lake outside of Forest Grove.
The free event is sponsored by the Natural Resources Department’s
Parks and Recreation Program and is hosted by the Tribe’s Fish and
Wildlife Committee. It will be held rain or shine with transportation,
fi shing gear and a meal provided.
The trip is limited to the fi rst 25 Tribal Elders and spouses who sign
up at the Elders Activity Center or by calling 503-879-2233.
Vans will leave the center at 8 a.m. People who need to obtain a
Tribal fi shing license should contact the Natural Resources Depart-
ment at 503-879-2424. n
Sewing class participants wanted
The sewing classes that have been held at the Elders Activity Center have
been canceled due to lack of participation. Classes could resume if at least
six people commit to attending. To commit or fi nd out more information,
contact Elders Activity Assistant Virginia Kimsey-Roof at 503-879-2233. n
WIC visits Community Center monthly
Pregnant? Breastfeeding? Does your family include a child under the
age of 5?
If so, you may qualify for the Women, Infants and Children program.
With WIC, people can receive answers to nutritional questions and access
fruits and vegetables, whole grains, eggs, milk, cheese, juice, cereal and
more.
A WIC representative visits the Tribal Community Center on the third
Tuesday of the month, which will be Sept. 18.
Walk-ins are welcome between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
