Tribal Library Summer Program: Held June 18 through July
31. The 2018 theme was “Libraries Rock.” Activities included:
• Reading Incentive Program: 29 youth registered.
• Weekly Table Activities.
• Saturday Movies at Noon.
• Weekly Summer Lunch Program Storytime.
Book Review: “The Boundless” by Kenneth Oppel.
“The Boundless” is a massive sight to behold: a magnificent train
designed and built by Mr. Van Horne at the birth of the great railroad.
Will Everett is the main character and the one who drives the final
spike into the railroad track, officially making it complete. Will grew
up poor, but after Will and his father save Van Horne from an ava-
lanche, Van Horne offers Will’s father a job to help him expand his
great empire across to the Pacific by conducting the maiden excursion
of The Boundless.
This new life of living in luxury soon gets muddled in a string of
chance events and Will finds himself framed for a murder he didn’t
commit. Will finds himself on the run, hiding out with a circus en-
semble that is traveling on The Boundless’ first journey. Will meets
Maren, a tightrope walker and escape artist. The elusive ringmaster
and magician, Mr. Dorian, agrees to house Will in his first-class suite
as long as Will helps him with a top secret assignment.
This book balances magic, action, a bit of romance and lots of ad-
venture in one amazing story. If you are looking for a book that will
keep you coming back for more, hanging on the edge of your seat and
keep you in suspense at every turn, then I’d definitely recommend
reading “The Boundless.” – by Dylan Larson
