“A Place To Call Home”
Natural Resources’ Parks and Recreation Program hosted the Tribal
preschool’s Lilu class for berry picking up Wind River Road on the Tribal
Reservation on Thursday, July 12. The youth learned about various
berries growing in the area and sampled some of the thimbleberry,
trailing blackberry and red huckleberry. Each child received their own
bag and were able to pick some of the huckleberries for themselves.
There was a picnic lunch after berry picking and then the youth headed
back down to their classroom to finish the day.
