Tribal Cultural Education Specialist Brian Krehbiel selects cedar
boughs to be dipped in water to then be used to brush over the canoes
to wake them up as he prepares for the Canoe Awakening ceremony
held at achaf-hammi, the Tribe’s plankhouse, on Tuesday, March
20. The Tribe’s canoes Stankiya and ulXayu were woken during the
ceremony.
