Food Bank provides
boxes, seeks help
The Grand Ronde Food Bank – iskam mfkhmfk haws – is operated
by Marion-Polk Food Share, which has been leading the fight to end
hunger since 1987 because no one should be hungry.
Recipients of SNAP, TANF, SSI or LIHEAP assistance automatically
qualify for assistance at the Grand Ronde Food Bank, 9675 Grand Ronde
Road. No one will be turned away in need of a food box.
“We believe that everyone deserves to have enough to eat,” Food Bank
Coordinator Francene Ambrose says. “You are welcome to get a food box
at each of our regular weekly distributions. No one will be turned away
in need of a food box.”
Upcoming food box distribution dates will be:
• 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, March 2;
• 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 10;
• 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, March 16;
• 2 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 21;
• 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, March 30.
Those who are unable to pick up a food box can fill out an authorized
representative form and that person can pick up a food box on your
behalf. The authorization is good for one year.
The Food Bank continues to seek volunteers to help with repacking
food, putting food on the shelves, handing out food boxes, end-of-month
inventory and picking up food donations at area stores.
A mandatory volunteer training will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Wednesday, March 7, at the Tribal Community Center, 9615 Grand
Ronde Road. Dinner will be provided at 5 p.m.
Call to ensure someone is available to assist. People also can sign up
for a monthly e-mail for the Food Bank calendar and events, as well as
follow the Food Bank on Facebook.

Lighthouse Church offers
to help area homeless
Lighthouse Church, located in the Tribal building at 24697 Grand
Ronde Road, is opening its doors from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and
Thursday to provide temporary shelter for homeless Tribal members
and Tribal families in the Grand Ronde area.
If a family with children need shelter, they will be allowed to stay
overnight if they arrive before 7 p.m.
The church is providing refreshments and information on where to
receive additional help.

LIHEAP program open in service area
The Tribal Social Service’s Low Income Home Energy Assistance Pro-
gram is open to eligible Tribal members in the six-county service area
and Clackamas County.
This is a first-come, first-served program and income criteria applies.
The program is federally funded through the Department of Health
and Human Services and is designed to help low-income households with
home heating costs.

Need something notarized?
Tribal Court staff is available at no charge for notaries 8 a.m.
to 5 p.m. Monday though Friday with the exception of noon to 1
p.m. Please be sure to bring a photo ID with you. If you have any
questions, contact the court at 503-879-2303.
Health & Wellness Center Entrance
Reminder: The drive-through entrance at the Health &
Wellness Center is for loading and unloading only.
The entrance was built with our Elders and those with mobility issues
and their ease of access in mind.
If you are coming to the center to pick up
prescriptions, please park in
one of our regular parking spaces.

WIC visits Community Center monthly
Pregnant? Breastfeeding? Does your family include a child under the
age of 5?
If so, you may qualify for the Women, Infants and Children program.
With WIC, people can receive answers to nutritional questions and access
fruits and vegetables, whole grains, eggs, milk, cheese, juice, cereal and
more.
A WIC representative visits the Tribal Community Center on the third
Tuesday of the month, which will be March 20,
Walk-ins are welcome between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
