Casino seeking Tribal
member artists
Spirit Mountain Casino is seeking Grand Ronde Tribal member artists
to participate in the design process for the 2018 casino Grand Floral
Parade float.
All conceptual designs submitted must be a Tribal member’s own
creation and represent the casino and the Confederated Tribes of Grand
Ronde. A complete copy of the scope-of-work packet can be obtained by
contacting Jocelyn Huffman via e-mail at Jocelyn.Huffman@spiritmtn.
com or calling 503-879-3054.
Full details are available only to Grand Ronde Tribal members request-
ing the scope of work.
Requests must be made no later than Monday, Dec. 11.
Designs and concepts become the property of Spirit Mountain Casino
once submitted and are subject to change or alteration to meet the needs
of float construction. 

Tribal Committees and Special Event Boards:
• Ceremonial Hunting Board meets as needed. Chair: Marline Groshong.
• Culture Committee meets at 5:30 p.m. the second Tuesday of the
month at the Grand Ronde Food Bank/iskam mfkhmfk haws, 9675
Grand Ronde Road. Chair: Francene Ambrose.
• Editorial Board meets at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 4, in Room 204 in the
Tribal Governance Center. Chair: Siobhan Taylor.
• Education Committee meets at 5:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of
the month in the Adult Education building. Chair: Tammy Cook.
• Elders Committee meets at 10 a.m. the third Wednesday of the month
in the Elders Activity Center. Chair: Gladys Hobbs.
• Enrollment Board meets quarterly in Room 204 of the Governance
Center. Chair: Michael Mercier.
• Fish & Wildlife Committee meets at 5:30 p.m. the second Tuesday
of the month at the Natural Resources building off Hebo Road. Chair:
Tyson Mercier.
• Health Committee meets at 10 a.m. the second Monday of the month
in the Health & Wellness Center. Chair: Patti Tom-Martin.
• Housing Board meets at 3 p.m. the third Thursday of the month in the
Housing Department conference room. Chair: Matt Thomas.
• Powwow Special Event Board meets monthly at noon at the Community
Center. Dates vary. Contact Dana Ainam at 503-879-2037. Chair: Dana
Ainam.
• Timber Committee meets at 5 p.m. the second Thursday of the month
at the Natural Resources building off Hebo Road. Chair: Bob Mercier.
• Veterans Special Event Board meets at 5:30 p.m. the first Tuesday of
the month in the old Elders Craft House. Chair: Steve Bobb Sr.

Sewing class participants wanted
The sewing classes that have been held at the Elders Activity Center
have been canceled due to lack of participation. Classes could resume if
at least six people commit to attending. To commit or find out more infor-
