members for a filing fee of only $30.

Board of Director’s position opening
Spirit Mountain Gaming, Inc. invites dynamic business-oriented
individuals to apply to the Spirit Mountain Gaming Inc. Board of
Directors. There is an available board position open for a qualified
applicant who possesses the appropriate business knowledge and
experience; preference will be applied to Tribal members.
The SMGI Board of Directors is responsible to the Confederated
Tribes of Grand Ronde Tribal Council and oversees fiscal account-
ability, budgets, policies, procedures and business operations of Spirit
Mountain Casino.
The SMGI Board meets once a month on the average but more if
necessary. Each board member receives a stipend each month for
their participation. Travel reimbursement is limited to the six (6)
county service area for the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde:
Polk, Yamhill, Marion, Tillamook, Multnomah and/or Washington.
Qualifications include general business knowledge, experience
in hospitality/customer service driven environment, 10 years of
experience in a responsible business position and strong financial
experience. Knowledge of Native American-owned and -operated
organizations preferred but not mandatory. There also should be a
demonstrated ability to be responsive to the goals of the business
and its increasing dynamic character with appropriate analytical
and communication skills.
Ability to pass a thorough background check and obtain a gaming
license is necessary.

PROPOSED PROCUREMENT ORDINANCE AMENDMENT
OPEN FOR COMMENT
The Tribal Council has proposed amendments to the Procurement
Ordinance. The first reading of the proposed amendments to the
Procurement Ordinance was presented at the June 28, 2017, Tribal
Council meeting.
The proposed amendments would require the Tribe to purchase
environmentally friendly products and services in an effort to reduce
greenhouse gas emissions, cut solid waste, conserve energy, improve
Tribal member health and provide a model of good stewardship. The
proposed amendments also include minor technical (i.e., formatting,
typographical, housekeeping) modifications.
Tribal Council invites comment on the proposed amendments to
the Procurement Ordinance. For a copy of the proposed Ordinance,

Public Notice Open For Comment
This is a Public Notice for Comment on the Grand Ronde Tribe’s
application for 2018 Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program
(LIHEAP) Funding. The Grand Ronde Tribe obtained a LIHEAP
grant last year from the Division of Energy Assistance within
the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. This grant
program assists income eligible Tribal members with energy as-
sistance (utility bills, fire wood, etc.), crisis energy assistance and
weatherization (e.g. furnace repair, caulking, insulation).
The Tribe’s LIHEAP service area includes Polk, Yamhill, Marion,
Multnomah, Washington, Tillamook and Clackamas counties. If
you are interested in obtaining services from the current program,
please contact Social Services at 800-242-8196 for energy assistance
and Tribal Housing at 503-879-2405 for weatherization.
The Tribe is taking public comment on the 2018 LIHEAP appli-
cation and plan and the associated policies that are to be submitted
by Sept. 1, 2017. The Tribe is looking at adding a cooling component
to this year’s application. The latest draft will be available for re-
view at the Social Services Department at the Community Center
starting Aug. 18, 2017. It also will be available at Tribal Housing’s
booth at the Powwow starting Aug.18, 2017. You also may call the

ments on the plan or to obtain more information about the plan.
