• A disturbance was reported at Spirit Mountain Casino. A female was
threatening security officers. Tribal police responded, found out the
female had an outstanding warrant and arrested her.
• Drug paraphernalia was reported at Spirit Mountain Casino. Officers
investigated and seized the paraphernalia.
Friday, Feb. 10
• Traffic crash in the Spirit Mountain Casino parking lot. Two drivers
crashed into each other while looking for parking.
• Driving complaint on Highway 18 regarding a driver swerving. Tribal
police located the vehicle and determined the driver was not impaired.
• Another driving complaint was received, but Tribal police were unable
to locate the vehicle.
• A female reported being threatened by a former significant other at Spirit
Mountain Casino. Tribal police responded and investigated. A male
was arrested for violating a restraining order and being in possession
of firearms in violation of a court order.
• A cell phone was reported stolen at Spirit Mountain Casino.
Saturday, Feb. 11
• A citizen called and reported a theft of a wallet in January. Officers are
investigating.
• A traffic complaint was called in regarding a possible DUII driver in the
area. Police did not locate the vehicle.
• A citizen called regarding another citizen walking on the highway.
• Police located and arrested the suspect in the cell phone theft from
Feb. 10. The cell phone was recovered and later returned to the victim.
• Casino security called regarding a male attempting to use a forged ID
at Spirit Mountain Casino. Tribal police investigated and arrested a
male on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of
an illegal weapon, ID theft and other fraud-related charges.

existence, and we are
grateful we got to
spend several years
with this amazing
man.
Tribal Elder Larry
Eugene Darling, 67, of
Silverton, Idaho, passed away Feb. 1, 2017, surrounded by his loving
family. He was born Aug. 4, 1949, in Wallace, Idaho. One of Larry's
greatest accomplishments was serving in the U.S. Army and being a
part of the Vietnam War. He fought proudly knowing he was fighting
for American privileges, freedom and everyone's own beliefs.
After returning from the Army, Larry met and married Jo Mullins
where they were brought together at the Methodist Church in Wal-
lace, Idaho. Together Jo and Larry raised three beautiful daughters.
Larry had a passion for remote-controlled planes, helicopters and
trucks. He loved building and flying all different types of aircraft.
He also enjoyed living in such a beautiful area and loved spending
time in the great outdoors. He loved to hunt, fish, camp, go jeeping,
waterskiing, snow skiing and gold panning.
Larry also was a certified scuba diver and a member of the Osburn
Veterans of Foreign Wars along with the CDA Jeeping Club. Larry
was truly a family man and loved nothing more than spending time
with all of his family, especially his grandchildren.
Larry is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Jo of Silverton,
Idaho; three daughters, Jeana (Tharrin) Frank of Silverton, Idaho,
Janell (Angela) Darling of Spokane, Wash., and Crystal (Mike) Gol-
dade of Wallace, Idaho; two sisters, Pam Darling and Trina Yokkelson
of Oregon; five grandchildren, Shelby (Zakkary) Miller of Kingston,
Idaho, Kelsey and Cora Frank of Silverton, Idaho, Dylan of Spokane
and Silver Goldade of Wallace, Idaho; and by numerous nieces and
nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by his mother, Gwendolyn; grand-
mother, Edith Barten; and siblings, Becky and Steve Darling.
A celebration of life will be held at a later time at Lower Glidden
Lake up Burke Summit in Idaho. In lieu of flowers, donations can be
made at the Osburn VFW, P.O. Box 109, Osburn, Idaho. 83849, or the
Wishing Star Foundation, 139 Sherman St., Spokane, Wash., 99202.
