Bishop pumps air in the tires with the help of
Corrina Ikakoula, a Tribal account executive
with Bonneville Power Administration, during
the BMX STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics)
Program held at Youth Education on Wednesday, Aug. 17. The
program provided 30 youths a hands-on experience of building a
BMX bike while learning the science and engineering behind BMX
racing. The Tribe partnered with BPA, the Boy Scouts of America
and the Army Corps of Engineers for the program. BMX racer Donny
Robinson, who won a bronze medal in the 2008 Summer Olympics,
also was in attendance and helped assemble some bikes.
