Tribal Elders Toni Quenelle, left, and Kevin Contreras walk a lap
around Spirit Mountain Casino’s Event Center after being crowned
king and queen at the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde’s 19th
annual Elder Honor Day on Monday, July 11. More than 500 Elders
from 25 Tribes attended the event, which included breakfast,
lunch, a brief exercise session with the Tribe’s Community Health
Department, bingo, prize drawings and recognizing the eldest male
and female veterans in attendance.
