Book review: “Dark Endeavor” by Kenneth Oppel
“Dark Endeavor” is the irst book of a two-book series based on
the early days of Victor Frankenstein. Victor and Konrad are twin
brothers who are nearly inseparable. Growing up, their lives are
illed with imagination, learning and adventures until the day their
adventures turn all too real.
Victor begins to struggle with inner demons, but he knows he
must not fail. His success depends on how far he is willing to push
the boundaries of nature and science, and how much he is willing
to sacriice.
This author, Kenneth Oppel, surprised me with how gothic and
stylishly written the book is with every word jumping with action
as you read. I loved that the story was set in the early era at the
Frankenstein family castle. I really enjoyed this book and look for-
ward to the second book in the series. — Rachelle Kellogg
