2006 – Tribal commu-
nity meetings were un-
derway, with sessions slated for Canyonville, Eugene, Grand Ronde,
Portland and Federal Way, Wash. The ive meetings provided the
widest access ever to members who live in Oregon and Washington.
2001 – Sixteen Tribal members were nominated to run for Tribal
Council, but Kathryn Harrison declined her nomination. She an-
nounced that she would not be seeking re-election and Tribal Council
Secretary Reyn Leno pinned an honor corsage on Harrison while the
audience members gave her a standing ovation.
1996 – Natural Resources Division Manager Cliff Adams reported
there are three new employees in his department: Fish and Wild-
life Coordinator Kelly Dirksen, Environmental Specialist Kathleen
Feehan and Forester Peter Wakeland.
1991 – Tillamook County Commissioners accepted a check from
Tribal Council Chairman Mark Mercier for $90,000 to settle forever
any revenue losses the county may have suffered from the creation
of the Reservation.
1986 – Tribal Chairman Mark Mercier said the Tribe is still nego-
tiating with the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife regarding
its Reservation Plan.

Elders seeking help making jam
Tribal Elders are seeking small jelly jars, donations of sugar and vol-
unteers to help make jam for Elder Honor Day in July.
Drop off donations at the Elders Activity Center, 48940 Blacktail Drive.

Notice to parents, guardians or custodians of minor and incompetent
members of the Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde Community
of Oregon and Tribal members 18 to 20 years of age – Regarding the
Rabbi Trust Fund and Minors’ Custodial Trust Fund investments.
• This is to inform you of the upcoming annual election opportunity
to recommend an investment option that best suits your tolerance
for investment risk for your child’s accounts in the Rabbi Trust and
Minors’ Custodial Trust. The election deadline is May 24, 2016, and
the investment period will be effective from June 1, 2016, to May
31, 2017. The Investment Risk Recommendation Form packet is
available at the regular Tribal Council meeting on May 18, on the
Tribe’s website and through the Member Beneits Department at
1-800-422-0232.

Investment Consulting Team by contacting the ofice of Joseph S.
Hoon, Robert W. Baird & Co., at 877-792-3667 between the hours

Nutrition Program plans Fun Walk
The Tribal Nutrition Program will hold its irst annual Fun Walk and
Field Day starting at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 4.
There will be a 1-mile walk, 5K walk and family fun activities in the ield
across from the Governance Center in Grand Ronde. Walks will start at 10
a.m. and ield activities at 11 a.m. Lunch will be served at noon.
“Please join us for a family fun day of good nutrition and outside activ-
ities,” said Nutrition Program Manager Kristy DeLoe.

VETERANS SUMMIT
Gathering of Warriors IV
July 8 - 9, 2016
LOGO CONTEST
This year’s Veterans Summit, the fourth consecutive
one to be held in Grand Ronde, has a theme
of “Connecting Veterans with Services.” The
organizers of this year’s summit are seeking logo
designs that embody this theme. The winner of the
contest will receive $50 and a Pendleton blanket.
Deadline for submission is Friday, May 20, 2016.
