SUPPLEMENTAL SECURITY INCOME
PROGRAM ORDINANCE
OPEN FOR COMMENT

The Tribal Council, in consultation with the Tribal Attorney’s Of-
ice, has proposed amendments to the Elders’ Retirement Program
and Supplemental Security Income Program Ordinance. The pro-
posed amendments were given a irst reading at the February 17,
2016, Tribal Council meeting.
The proposed amendments change the payment dates from the
10th day of each month to the 1st day of each month.
The Tribal Council invites comment on the proposed amendments
to the Elders’ Retirement Program and Supplemental Security In-
come Program Ordinance. For a copy of the Ordinance please con-
tact the Tribal Attorney’s Ofice at 503-879-4664. Please send your
comments to the Tribal Attorney’s Ofice, 9615 Grand Ronde Road,

HOTEL OCCUPANCY TAX ORDINANCE
OPEN FOR COMMENT
The Tribal Council, in consultation with the Tribal Attorney’s
Ofice, has proposed amendments to the Hotel Occupancy Tax Or-
dinance. The proposed amendments were given a irst reading at
the February 3, 2016, Tribal Council meeting.
The proposed amendments include increasing the tax imposed on
use and occupancy of rooms from 8% to 10% and may include other
technical and formatting amendments.
The Tribal Council invites comment on the proposed amendments
to the Hotel Occupancy Tax Ordinance. For a copy of the Ordinance
please contact the Tribal Attorney’s Ofice at 503-879-4664. Please

Elders seeking help
in making jam
Clockwise from left, Tribal spouses Ron Tuomi and Bob Duncan and
Tribal Elder Gladys Hobbs assemble a wood duck nesting box at the
Elders Activity Center on Monday, Feb. 22. The Tribe’s Fish & Wildlife
Committee had the idea to build the boxes that will be placed around
the Reservation, and possibly some near ponds in Willamina and
Sheridan. Tribal Council sponsored the project. Twelve boxes were
built and Tribal Elder and committee Chair Harold Lyon cut the pieces
for the boxes.
Tribal Elder John Lillard adds a screw as he helps assemble a wood
duck nesting box at the Elders Activity Center on Monday, Feb. 22.
Tribal Elders are seeking small jelly jars, donations of sugar and vol-
unteers to help make jam for Elder Honor Day in July.
Drop off donations at the Elders Activity Center, 48940 Blacktail Drive.
