tutorial discussing tag rules, regulations, applications and reporting as
well as receive associated tutorial materials before awarded tag can be

503-879-2387 for more information. Under no circumstances will a
tag be issued without hunter having completed said tutorial.

Tribal Enrollment Cards are required at the time of licensing and in ad-
dition, Hunter's Safety Certificates are required for youth 17 and under.

hunting tag drawing for these Tribal Wildlife
Management Tags (black-tailed deer and Roosev
on Friday, September 11, 2015, at 5 p.m. at

ONLY ONE APPLICATION PER CATEGORY! Multiple appli-
cations will result in ALL APPLICATIONS being voided for that
hunter. Categories are as follows:
• DEER (FIREARM ONLY)
oCoastal Buck Centerfire Firearm Season: Sept. 28 to Oct. 2.
oHair Tag Muzzleloader Rifle Season: Nov. 21 to Dec. 1.
oHunters may apply for both hunts.
• ELK (FIREARM ONLY)
oBull First Season: Nov. 7 to Nov. 13.
oSpike Second Season: Nov. 18 to Nov. 20.
oDO NOT APPLY FOR BOTH 1st and 2nd season, or all applications
will be voided.
• Lost tags will not be replaced. It is the hunter's responsibility to
keep all tags in a safe and secure place.
•Under no circumstances will a tag be issued without all of the
proper documentation.
APPLICATION RULES:
Tribal hunting licenses are required before submitting applications with the

Resources Department facility, 47010 S.W. Hebo Road, Grand Ronde,
Oregon 97347.
Candidate meeting
In accordance with the Natural Resources Fish and Wildlife Ordinance,
all tag reports (Kill or No kill, and lost tags) are required TO BE RE-
PORTED within 10 days of the last day of hunt. In an attempt to
help all hunters achieve this, the Natural Resources Department will allow
reporting of activities the following ways; Telephone at 503-879-2424,
e-mail at NRD@grandronde.org; mail at P.O. BOX 10, Grand Ronde
OR 97347, and in person to the Natural Resources Department,
47010 S.W. Hebo Road, Grand Ronde OR 97347 where a secured drop
box is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. As a reminder, cards not
returned within the established deadlines are subject to suspension. n

Tribal Council member Denise Harvey, right, met with Democratic
presidential candidate Hillary Clinton when she visited Portland on
Wednesday, Aug. 5, to raise funds for her campaign. Clinton is a former
first lady, U.S. senator representing New York and Secretary of State.
Harvey said that the necklace gifted to Clinton was created by Tribal
member Sarah Ross and given to Harvey during a Coming of Age
ceremony. “I’ve always thought of Hillary Clinton as an empowering
person for women and I thought that that necklace, which I only wore
at special times, was the perfect gift for her,” Harvey said. Harvey
said Clinton said she would send a thank you letter to Ross. Harvey
also welcomed Clinton to the Grand Ronde Tribal homelands and
networked with other federal representatives. According to a report
in The Oregonian, Clinton visited with donors at the Dunthorpe home
of Democratic donor Win McCormack and political consultant Carol
Butler for just under two hours.

Facilities seeks help
identifying veterans’ plots
The Facilities Department is asking for help in identifying the plots of
veterans buried in the Tribal Cemetery.
If your family member or friend is a veteran and there is not a U.S. flag
present on their plot on holidays, such as Memorial Day, please contact
the department, which will do its best to mark all gravesites of veterans.
