EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES
Attention full-
time students
All full-time students must submit verification that they have applied
to a scholarship outside the Tribe before funding will be released for the
term/semester.
Verification can include a scholarship award or denial letter, e-mail
verification that an application was submitted, a copy of the application
or the financial aid award letter that lists an outside scholarship.

Online degree programs
Turn your college credits or associate degree into a more powerful
four-year degree from Portland State University.
Undergraduate degrees offered: BA/BS in Social Science, BA/BS
in Arts & Letters and BA/BS in Liberal Studies.

CTGR Higher Education
Program deadlines set
There are now only two Higher Education programs depending on
whether you are full-time or part-time. The deadline for the Full-
Time College program is at least 30 days before the start of classes.
The deadline for the Part-Time College program is at least 10 days
before the start of class.

Fee assistance
Enrolled Tribal members can request assistance with test fees
(i.e. GRE, SAT, LSAT, ACT) and admissions application fees.

CTGR 2015-2016 K5 Afterschool Program
Sign up Details
Applications available: Monday July 13th, 2015
Sign-ups: begin Monday August 3rd (8am-12pm & 1– 5pm)
Location: Youth Education Department Building
For Who: CTGR Tribal, Native American, or Descendent students who
are entering Kindergarten - 5th grade.
Fees/Deposits: $20 per month (or Sliding-scale fee based on income)
Eligibility requirements: Parents must be working, attending school, participating
in training, or providing foster or protective services during the hours of operation.

Summer Programs Ended July 30: Thanks to all youth who
participated in the programs. Final program statistics will be in next
issue of Smoke Signals. You will be amazed by how many minutes of
reading were logged by our youth in the six-week program!

Tribal Library staff will be cataloging approximately 50 new titles
for the children and young adult collection in August.
Donations: Our thanks to Lewis Younger, Margo Ordaz, Sam
George, George Neujahr, Devin Larsen and the Health & Wellness
Center for their contributions to the library collection this reporting
period. We appreciate the generosity of our friends of the library.
Reminder: Donated items must be clean and in good condition.
Inter-Library loan services: The Tribal Library partners with
Oregon State Library to offer “library to library” inter-library loan
services. By completing the inter-library loan form, library patrons
may request items from the Oregon State Library collection. Items
will be couriered to and from the Tribal Library. OSL lending policies
apply for return of items.
