We are looking for assistance in repacking food, putting food on the shelves, handing out food boxes on distribution days and end-of-the-month inventory. Other grants applied for include $33,207 in funding from the Natu- ral Resources Conservation Service to conduct early seral habitat en- hancement projects on two of the Reservation’s elk meadows and on portions of the Thomson and South Yamhill properties, a $62,500 Oregon Emergency Management Performance grant that would cover part of the Emergency Operations coordinator and a half-time assis- tant, trainings and event exercis- es, supplies and communications equipment, and a $107,360 Trans- portation and Growth Management grant that would cover the cost of updating or replacing the Tribe’s 2007 Transportation System Plan. In other action, Tribal Council approved a memorandum of agree- ment between the Portland Harbor Natural Resources Trustees and the Freshwater Trust, which pro- vides for Tribal oversight and in- put, as well as associated funding, on a potential project benefitting Tribally important species such as salmon and lamprey near West Hayden Island. Tribal Council also approved the enrollment of five applicants into the Tribe. I set up a big rummage sale in July and buy pet food with all the proceeds from that, too.” Kucewicz started A Cause For Paws in September 2013 and to date 40 people have signed up. “I feel many people are able to keep their pets because they know they have a resource for food for them,” she added. “Anyone is welcome.” Kucewicz can be contacted at jonikucewicz@gmail.com. n ATTENTION TRIBAL MEMBERS COMMITTEE AND SPECIAL EVENT BOARD VACANCIES The following Committees and Special Event Boards have vacant positions.
