Spirit Mountain Gaming, Inc. (SMGI) is seeking a dynamic busi-

Board of Directors. The SMGI Board of Directors is responsible to
the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde Tribal Council and over-
VHHVÀVFDODFFRXQWDELOLW\EXGJHWVSROLFLHVSURFHGXUHVDQGEXVLQHVV
operations of Spirit Mountain Casino.
The SMGI Board meets once a month and board members receive
a stipend each month for their participation in board meetings.
4XDOLÀFDWLRQV:HDUHVHHNLQJLQGLYLGXDOVZLWKJHQHUDOEXVLQHVV
knowledge, experience in hospitality/customer service-driven envi-
ronment, and in one or more of the following areas:
• Finance;
• Internal Audit;
• Marketing;
• Gaming;
• Surveillance/Security.
Knowledge of Native American owned and operated organizations
preferred but not mandatory. There should also be a demonstrated
ability to be responsive to the goals of the business and its increasing
dynamic character with appropriate analytical and communication
skills.
Must be able to pass a thorough background check and obtain a
PMO gaming license.

Oregon State slates
salmon bake, powwow
The 17th annual salmon bake will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Friday,
May 15, at the Native American longhouse Eena Haws at Oregon State
University in Corvallis. On Saturday, May 16, the powwow will be held
with grand entries at 1 and 7 p.m. For more information, contact the

Veterans Royalty
Veterans Royalty work with the Veterans Special Event Board (Veterans
SEB). They attend powwows, parades, fundraisers, meetings and other events
with the Veterans SEB and the Honor Guard. They interact with and represent
all veterans. They also work with the Grand Ronde Royalty during events and
activities such as Restoration, parades and fundraisers. The Veterans Royalty
should know what a veteran is and the different military branches.
When Veterans Royalty attend events, they are expected to stay for the duration
of the event. This includes helping to set up events, meetings and parades and

Veterans Royalty should have their own regalia and be willing and able to dance.
GRAND RONDE VETERANS ROYALTY
Participating in Veterans Royalty is an excellent opportunity for Tribal girls
and young women to learn our traditions, powwow protocol and work with
veterans. Participants represent the Veterans and the Tribe by attending
powwows and various community events.
We encourage all young woman ages 8-18 to join.
Junior Veterans Queen — 8-13 years of age
Senior Veterans Queen — 14-18 years of age
General Requirements:
1. Enrolled Grand Ronde Tribal member
2. Must be alcohol and drug free
3. Never married, no children
5. Attend school regularly and be in good standing
6. Sign and comply with Veteran Royalty
