in the Governance Center break room on Friday, Feb. 27. After writing
more than 1,000 stories, receiving numerous awards and working
almost 13 years for the Tribal Publications Department, Karten retired
on Feb. 28. He said his plans in retirement include projects at his
Dayton-area home, photography and playing numerous rounds of golf.

The Tribal Council adopted, on an emergency basis, amendments to

The primary purpose of the amendments is to consolidate the
housing program with other Tribal programs by dissolving the Grand
Ronde Tribal Housing Authority and creating a Housing Department

a Grievance Review Board to hear tenant and applicant matters and
to provide policy guidance to the Housing Department.
