Looking for scholarships?
There are numerous scholarship opportunities offered for students to
apply to each year. The majority of scholarships for fall term/semester are
due between January and April of each year. The Tribal Higher Education
programs are here to assist you in your application process. If you use a
scholarship search site, be sure to read the privacy policy to ensure you

Tribal Council Chairman Reyn Leno looks over the program before the

hands-on Native Plant Propagation Workshop.

Native plants are becoming more popular as homeowners look for plants that adapt
well to our climate and soil conditions, celebrate our local landscape, and provide
food and shelter for native wildlife and pollinators.

Purpose: NRCS is holding a local work group meeting to gather input from
farmers, ranchers, state and federal agencies, agriculture and conservation
organizations regarding natural resources conservation priorities and
opportunities to invest collaboratively in Polk County. All input will be
discussed at the meeting. If you are unable to attend the meeting, submit your
written input to Tom Finegan at 580 Main, Suite A, Dallas, Oregon 97338 or via
email tom.finegan@or.usda.gov prior to the meeting for inclusion.
Learn the basics of native species propagation, by seed and cuttings, in this
hands-on workshop. You will take home a mixed flat of native plant seeds and
containers of cuttings. We will discuss cultural uses of native plants, seed and
cutting collection, ethical issues, plant care, pests and cleaning techniques.
