Social Services holding
School Clothes Program
The Social Services Department is holding its 2014 School Clothes Pro-
gram. This is a first-come, first-served program.
A child must be an enrolled Grand Ronde Tribal member and must be
of school age and enrolled in school (preschool, elementary, middle or high
school).
Income criteria apply. Contact Social Services at 800-242-8196 or 503-
879-2034 for an application. Deadline for applications is Sept. 15. n
ATTENTION
If you are currently receiving or are in need of SNAP benefits, Social
Services provides an Oregon Department of Human Services case-
worker who comes to Grand Ronde twice monthly on Wednesdays. The
caseworker may assist with applications, updates, child care, etc. If you
are in need of services, call 503-879-2034 to schedule an appointment
or you can reach Michelle Carmona at 503-879-4523. n

Tribal Committees and Special Event Boards:
• Ceremonial Hunt Board meets as needed. Chair: Marline Groshong.
• Cultural Trust Board meets at 4 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month
at the Elders’ Activity Center. Chair: Perri McDaniel.
• Culture Committee meets at 1 p.m. the first Wednesday of the month at
the Chachalu Museum & Cultural Center. Chair: Betty Bly.
• Education Committee meets at 5:15 p.m. on the first Monday of the
month in the Adult Education Building. Chair: Tammy Cook.
• Elders’ Committee meets at 1 p.m. the third Wednesday of the month in
the Elders’ Activity Center. Chair: Gladys Hobbs.
• Enrollment Committee meets quarterly in Room 204 of the Governance
Building. Chair: Robert Schmid.
• Fish & Wildlife Committee meets at 5:30 p.m. the second Tuesday of the

Tribal Council schedules
Sept. 12 per capita date

Tribal Council declared that
Friday, Sept. 12, will be the
third per capita payment date
of 2014 at its Wednesday, Aug.
20, meeting.
In other action, Tribal Coun-
cil:
• Authorized the Tribe’s appli-
cation to the U.S. Department
of Health and Human Services
for Low Income Home Energy
Assistance Program funding;
• Approved the Tribe’s $419,241
application to the U.S. Depart-
ment of Education’s Office of
Special Education and Reha-
bilitation Services for voca-
tional rehabilitation services
projects for American Indians
With Disabilities funding and
for four additional years of
funding that will total ap-
proximately $1.8 million;
• Approved the enrollment of
five infants into the Tribe.
Also included in the Aug. 20
Tribal Council packet were
authorizations to proceed
that:
• Authorized the installation of
a sign at Grand Ronde Sta-
tion to replace the existing
monument price sign;
• Gave the Nutrition Program
permission to work with Fa-
cilities staff to install a pro-
pane tank for the greenhouse
at the Community Garden
and allowed Nutrition to
purchase and install a pole
barn at the garden.

Voc Rehab slates Sept. 10 open house
The Tribal Vocational Rehabilitation Program is hosting an open house
from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, in room 126 of the Adult Education
building to connect with community professionals and Tribal families to
inform them of program services with a focus on youth transition. Everyone
is encouraged to attend.
Dinner will be served free of charge and there will be gifts and raffle
prizes.
Vocational Rehabilitation is a program that works with Tribal members
who have physical or mental disabilities to prepare for, gain and retain
employment.
