Tribe awarded $250,000
grant for Chachalu
The Tribe has been awarded a $250,000 grant from the Meyer Me-
morial Trust for its new Chachalu Museum and Culture Center.

Reibach said the funds will be applied to the second phase of the
museum expansion.
“This grant is a great honor,” Reibach said. “The funding will be
applied to the construction of Phase 2 of Chachalu.”
First called the Fred G. Meyer Charitable Trust, the foundation
was created by the late Fred G. Meyer, who built the chain of retail
stores bearing his name throughout the Pacifi c Northwest.
When Meyer died in 1978 at the age of 92, his will established
the charitable trust, bequeathing it nearly 2 million shares of stock
in Fred Meyer Inc. In 1982, most of the designated funds were
transferred from the estate and the charitable trust began operat-
ing separate of the retail chain. n

OHP re-application process
In October 2013, the Oregon Health Plan sent out a one-page applica-
tion to sign up for health benefi ts called “Fast Track.”
Any recipient on SNAP (food stamps) received a Fast Track letter. All
Oregon Health Plan members who qualifi ed for coverage through Fast
Track must re-apply within the fi rst year of coverage or risk losing their
coverage. If it has not been a full year, you still need to re-apply to con-
tinue receiving health benefi ts.
In July, the Oregon Health Authority will begin sending letters to Orego-
nians who received the Oregon Health Plan through Fast Track explain-
ing the re-application process. The Grand Ronde Health and Wellness
Center Community Partners want to help Tribal and community members
make sure they retain their health coverage. If you do not re-apply, you
will lose your health benefi ts through the Oregon Health Plan.
