Emergency Assistance
and Medical Gas
Voucher Program
For all income criteria programs, wage verifi cation for past 60 days
(wage stubs) will need to be submitted. If client has not worked for a
period of time, client will need to submit a printout from their State
Employment Offi ce or printout from Oregon Self-Suffi ciency Offi ce
as verifi cation of income. Rental/deposit or utility assistance may
be utilized only one time in a 24-month rolling calendar period and
is not to exceed the maximum contribution of $1,000 per household
within any 24-month rolling calendar period.
Medical Gas Vouchers
Social Services will not provide gas vouchers for medical ap-
pointments, counseling or drug and alcohol treatment. The only
exception is for scheduled treatment plans (i.e.: radiation, chemo-
therapy, surgery, etc.) that have caused hardship on the family.
Medical gas vouchers can be distributed to meet the need of the
circumstances.
A copy of all scheduled treatment plans must be received before
client is eligible to receive this service. Assistance will end on the
date of the last treatment appointment.

Important notice to
full-time students
All full-time students must submit verifi cation that they have ap-
plied to a scholarship outside the Tribe before funding will be released
for the term/semester. Verifi cation can include a scholarship award or
denial letter, e-mail verifi cation that an application was submitted, a
copy of the application or the fi nancial aid award letter that lists an
outside scholarship.

Visit Ashland, Oregon on July 21-23, 2014 with Youth Education as we pay a visit to
Southern Oregon University and learn about what they have to offer prospective
students. We will also be taking in “Richard III” at the Oregon Shakespeare festival.
In addition to the play, students will be given an opportunity to learn about the play
beforehand and then talk to a performer after the play.
This event is limited to 8 students.
Students will need to fill out an
application to be considered for this
trip.

Firewood Permits
Attention fi rewood permit holders! According to the National Inter-
agency Fire Center, Oregon is expected to have an “above normal fi re
potential.” With this forecast and an abundance of fuel wood available,
we are encouraging valid permit holders to fi ll the issued permits as
soon as reasonably possible to avoid a closure due to fi re season. For
questions or to obtain a fi rewood permit, contact Natural Resources
at 503-879-2424 or visit www.grandronde.org/departments/natural-
resources/. As a reminder, fi rewood permits are issued to all Grand
Ronde Tribal members for personal use and may not exceed fi ve cords
in a calendar year. n
