Family Night Out

annual Family Night Out and methamphetamine awareness event
on the Tribal campus held on Thursday, June 19. Hundreds of people
attended the event that included an infl atable obstacle course and
slide, zip line, cake walk and game booths. There was also a resource
fair with representatives from the Tribe’s medical clinic, Behavioral
Health and Social Services departments, just to name a few.
To end domestic violence and sexual
assault, we must work to increase
our understanding of it and how it
hurts the whole community.

Grand Ronde Tribal member Savannah ingram, 1, says thank you
at the uNiTY National Conference in Portland on Saturday, June
2. ingram was one of the recipients of the 201 25 under 25 Youth
Leadership Award. The national honor places ingram among the
nation’s leading Native American youth. ingram is the Tribe’s Veterans
Queen this year and a recipient of many high school honors. She has
danced in Tribal powwows since she was years old and is currently
a freshman at Mt. Hood Community College in Gresham. Also named
among the 25 under 25 group was SuSun Fisher, 15, daughter of
Tammy Fisher. She is a member of the Confederated Tribes of Siletz
indians and active in the Grand Ronde Canoe Family. She will attend
Chemawa indian School as a sophomore in the fall.
