Grand Ronde Head Start (0-5)/Preschool is now accepting applications
for children ages 0-5 years old and expectant mothers for the 2014-15
school year.
Completed applications must be received no later than 4 p.m. Wednes-
day, July 2.
Selection will take place July 17, 2014.

Workshop facilitators for micro-
enterprise business classes wanted
MERIT is a microenterprise program that provides business training
and one-on-one business counseling to residents of Marion, Polk and
Yamhill counties who are in the process of starting their own busi-
nesses.
A microenterprise is defined as a very small (or micro-) business, hav-
ing fewer than five employees (usually a single self-employed person
or family), minimal capital needs, and whose owner has some social,
cultural, economic or physical barrier to overcome that prevents access
to traditional business training and counseling resources. We are looking
for individuals who possess the best practices in workshop facilitation,
instruction and classroom management to facilitate discussion and
student information exchange on the topic of business development.
Our goal is to create a safe, interactive, non-critical learning environ-
ment that encourages self-reflection and learning. We are looking for
individuals who will build trust with each student to ensure they become
completely engaged in the course to the best of their ability.

full-time students
All full-time students must submit verification that they have applied to a
scholarship outside the Tribe before funding will be released for the term/se-
mester. Verification can include a scholarship award or denial letter, e-mail
verification that an application was submitted, a copy of the application or
the financial aid award letter that lists an outside scholarship. Please contact

Tribal Library Summer Program: June 16-July 31. This year’s
Summer Program theme is “FIZZ, BOOM, READ!” Youth need to
register for the Reading Incentive Program by Friday, June 13. Read-
ing Incentive is for ages 4 to 17. There will be theme activity sessions
on Saturday, June 21 and July 12, from noon to 2 p.m. for ages 5
through 12. Please RSVP to attend so we have enough supplies.
New items in the collection: Children’s Collection: “Berlioz the
Bear,” “Grandfather Tang’s Story,” “Kenny and the Dragon” and
“One Bear Lost” (board). Young Adult Collection: “Guys Read” (3),
“Dirty Little Secrets” and “Sure Signs of Crazy.” Adult Non-fiction:
“When Pride Still Mattered-Vince Lombardi,” “401(k)s for Dum-
mies” and “Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream for Dessert.” Adult Fiction: “The
Headmaster’s Wife,” “Insurgent” and “Divergent,” “Mercy Snow,”

The Tribal Library is a CCRLS Circulation Site: Use your
Chemeketa Cooperative Regional Library Services library card to
place electronic holds on resources in the 18 partner libraries and
items will be couriered here for check out and can be checked back
in here as well.
Inter-Library Loan services: The Tribal Library partners with
Oregon State Library to offer “library to library” inter-library loan
services. By completing the inter-library loan form, library patrons
may request items from the Oregon State Library collection. OSL
lending policies apply for return of items.
