The fi rst salmon is presented to Tribal members in attendance at the
beginning of the First Salmon Ceremony as a song is performed. Tribal
members Greg Archuleta, Brian Krehbiel, Bobby Mercier, Jordan
Mercier and Tribal Council Secretary Toby McClary used a net to catch
the salmon at Willamette Falls earlier that day.
Second First Salmon
The Tribe held its second annual First Salmon Ceremony at the
McLean House in West Linn on Friday, May 16, along the shores of the
Willamette River. About 60 people attended the ceremony, including
Tribal Council Secretary Toby McClary and Tribal Council members
Cheryle A. Kennedy, Jon A. George and Denise Harvey.
