Program deadlines set
There are now only two Higher Education programs depending on whether
you are full-time or part-time. The deadline for the Full-Time College pro-
gram is at least 30 days before the start of classes. The deadline for the
Part-Time College program is at least 10 days before the start of class.

Summer 2014 Student Employment
Youth Crew Member Position
The Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde, in cooperation
with the Oregon Youth Conservation Corps is looking for
16 youth to work in a Summer Youth Crew Program.
These positions are designed and funded for the
purpose of providing employment experience and
meaningful opportunities to local area youth.

various positions in the Tribe’s Education Department since 2005 and
her last day as the Tribe’s curriculum specialist was Friday, May 2. As
the curriculum specialist, she played a critical role in creating the first
Grand Ronde Tribal History Curriculum which will be implemented in
the public school system at the fourth-grade level. She resigned her
position to work for her and her husband Nick’s company, Minahan
Cutting, Inc. In the background is Tribal Council member Jon A. George.
Tribal Royalty slates
fundraising car wash
Tribal Royalty will hold a fundraising car wash from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30
p.m. Friday, May 16, in the parking lot of the Governance Center near
the West Valley Veterans Memorial.
Donations will be accepted. There also will be a 50/50 raffle. Tickets will
be $1 each and six for $5. Ticket holders do not have to be present to win.
Winner will be announced via e-mail by 3 p.m. n
Youth Crew Member
Start Date: Monday, July 7, 2014
Duration: 7 weeks, 36 hours/week
End Date: Friday, Aug. 22, 2014
Pay: $9.10/hr
Duties
Work as a member of an eight-person work crew. Projects include trail construction, habitat en-
hancement, invasive species removal and other natural resource and community
enhancement projects.
Qualifications
Must be 16-19 years of age; have the ability or experience to safely, and properly use hand tools;
be able to work in rugged outdoor terrain. Interest in or experience in working in the outdoors
helpful.
Requirements
1) Furnish own work boots
2) Complete and pass pre-employment background check and drug test.
Work Location
Natural Resources Office, Grand Ronde. Grand Ronde is located in the foothills of the Coast
Range approximately 30 miles northwest of Salem, 25 miles southwest of McMinnville, or 50
miles north of Corvallis.

for its Summer Youth Crew program.
Youth Crew Supervisor Position
Start Date: Monday June 2, 2014
Duration: 16 weeks, 40 hours/week
End Date: Sept. 30, 2014
Pay: $13.00-$16.00/hr
Duties
Schedule program tasks and activities, purchase crew supplies and materials, organize campouts,
and supervise two youth crew leaders and associated youth crews for up to 13 weeks and assist the
Fish and Wildlife department with natural resource projects for approximately 3 weeks.
Qualifications
Must have desire to work with youth and in natural resources; be able to work in rugged outdoor
terrain; experience with the proper use of hand tools; good communication and organization
skills. Supervisory experience preferred.
Requirements
Furnish own work boots, valid driver’s license with a safe driving record, must successfully pass pre
-employment background check and drug test. Must be able to attend 3-day, 2-night (June 18-20,
2014) training in Bend, OR where first-aid and CPR training are provided.

to obtain supervisory experience and practice hands-on natural
resource management techniques.
F&W Intern/ Youth Crew Leader Position
Start Date: June 16, 2014
Duration: 16 weeks, 40 hours/week
End Date: Sept. 30, 2014
Pay: $10.50-$14.00/hr
Duties: Supervise and provide leadership to an eight-person summer youth work crew for up to
eight weeks and assist the Fish and Wildlife Department for approximately six weeks. Projects may
include stream and riparian restoration/enhancement, trail maintenance and construction, native
vegetation plantings, habitat enhancement monitoring, wildlife monitoring and other natural re-
source and community projects.
Qualifications: Desire to work with youth and/or in natural resources. Must be able to work in
rugged outdoor terrain. Experience in the proper use of hand tools. Good communication skills.
