Investment meeting
This is to inform you of the upcoming annual election opportunity
to recommend an investment option that best suits your tolerance
for investment risk. The election deadline is May 23, 2014, and the
investment period will be effective from June 1, 2014, to May 31,
2015.
n Sunday, May 18, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in Tribal Community Center
(before General Council meeting), 9615 Grand Ronde Road, Grand
Ronde, OR 97347.
A member of the Tribe’s investment consulting team from Robert
W. Baird & Co. will be present at the meeting to answer your ques-
tions. If you are unable to attend this meeting, you may still speak
with a member of the Tribe’s investment consulting team by contact-
ing the office of Joseph S. Hoon at 877-792-3667 between the hours
of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Any questions contact Member Services 1-800-422-0232 to request
a form be sent. Forms are also available on the Tribal website. n

the invocation at the Tribe’s annual Memorial Day ceremony being held at the
West Valley Veterans Memorial on the Tribal campus on Monday, May 26.

Board meeting days and times
Below is the most current information on the meeting days and times for
Tribal Committees and Special Event Boards:
• Ceremonial Hunt Board meets as needed. Chair: Marline Groshong.
• Cultural Trust Board meets at 4 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month
at the Elders’ Activity Center. Chair: Perri McDaniel.
• Culture Committee meets at 1 p.m. the first Wednesday of the month at
the Chachalu Cultural Center and Museum. Chair: Betty Bly.
• Education Committee meets at 5:15 p.m. on the first Monday of the
month in the Adult Education Building. Chair: Tammy Cook.
• Elders’ Committee meets at 1 p.m. the third Wednesday of the month in
the Elders’ Activity Center. Chair: Gladys Hobbs.
• Enrollment Committee meets quarterly in Room 204 of the Governance
Building. Chair: Robert Schmid.
• Fish & Wildlife Committee meets at 5:30 p.m. the second Tuesday of
the month at the Natural Resources building off Hebo Road. Chair: Harold
Lyon.
• Health Committee meets at 10 a.m. the second Wednesday of the month

• Powwow Special Event Board meets TBA at the Community Center.

The Veterans Special Event
Board will be sponsoring the an-
nual Memorial Day ceremony held
at the West Valley Veterans Memo-
rial on the Tribal campus beginning
at 1 p.m. Monday, May 26.
A meal will be served in the
Tribal Community Center begin-
ning at noon.
Veterans Special Event Board
Chairman Steve Bobb Sr., a Viet-
nam-era Marine Corps veteran,
will be the master of ceremonies
and provide the invocation.
Grand Ronde drummers will
perform a memorial song before
Tribal member Jolanda Catabay
sings the national anthem. Grand
Ronde Royalty will perform “The
Lord’s Prayer,” as well.
Confirmed speakers will include
Tribal Council Chairman Reyn
Leno, also a Vietnam-era Marine
Corps veteran, Oregon Veterans’
Services Administrator Eric Belt
and Gunny Brandon, also a Ma-
rine Corps veteran.
Twelve new names being placed
on the Veterans Memorial will be
read aloud by their service branch.
Alton Butler will read the names
of Marine Corps veterans, Eu-
gene LaBonte will read the Navy
veterans, Bud White will read
the names of those who served in
the Air Force and Tribal Council
member June Sherer will read
the names of those who served in
the Army.
The new names bring the total
number of men and women hon-
ored on the memorial to 2,283.

Twelve names will be added
to the West Valley Veterans
Memorial this year, said Tribal
Veterans Special Event Board
Chairman Steve Bobb Sr.
The memorial honors Tribal
members and West Valley
residents who have served in
the military. The new names
honored are:
Army: Tribal member Kerrina
Grout Frenney, Tribal mem-
ber Nathaniel Lane, Lee Roy
Smith and Randy Hoff.
Marine Corps: Tribal member
Maxwell Hale, Ernest Keener
and Richard Van Atta.
Air Force: Jack Stevens.
Navy: Tribal member Gary
Leuthauser, David Risseeuw,
Isaac Risseeuw and Len
Malmquist.
Bud Abbott will read a poem and
a medley of taps and “Amazing
Grace” will be played by trum-
peter Bob Thornton and Jan
Looking Wolf Reibach, head of the
Tribe’s Land & Culture Depart-
ment and a multiple winner of
Native American Music Awards
as a flutist. Reibach is an Army
veteran, as well.
The Grand Ronde Honor Guard
also will post and retire the col-
ors. n
