Polk County Commissioner Jennifer Wheeler, front, and her husband,
Tim, front row middle, returned a stone bowl artifact to the Tribe
during a meeting with Tribal Council on Tuesday, March 1. The bowl
was found on their property in Grand Ronde around 190. Tribal

ed Pearsall, Toby McClary, Cheryle A. Kennedy and Jack Giff en Jr.
accepted the gift for the Tribe.

munity of Oregon, is published twice a month. No portion of this publication may be reprinted
without permission.
Our editorial policy is intended to encourage input from Tribal members and readers
about stories printed in the Tribal newspaper. However, all letters received must be
signed by the author, an address must be given and a phone number or e-mail address
must be included for verifi cation purposes. Full addresses and phone numbers will not
be published unless requested.

Ravella Riff enburg takes a photo of a stone bowl artifact that was
recently returned to the Tribe by Tim and Jennifer Wheeler, as Perri
Greeley looks on, in the Tribe’s archaeology department on Friday,
March 21. The two attend Willamette university and are interns in the
Tribe’s Land and Culture Department and were identifying the bowl
for archiving information.
