EMPLOYMENT ACTION REVIEW ORDINANCE
OPEN FOR COMMENT
The Tribal Council is considering adoption of amendments to
the Employment Action Review Ordinance. The proposed amend-
ments were given a First Reading at the March 5, 2014, Tribal
Council meeting.
The primary purposes of the proposed amendments is to (1)
eliminate “on the record” reviews of employment decisions; (2) pro-
vide a method for conducting employment hearings in the Tribal
Court; (3) include provisions for mediating employment claims;
and (4) provide additional remedies for employees. The proposed
amendments may also include minor technical (i.e., typographical,
housekeeping) modifications.
Tribal Council invites comments on the proposed amendments
to the Employment Action Review Ordinance. For a copy of the

Home repair grants for Tribal homes
The Tribe, through the Grand Ronde Tribal Housing Authority,
offers Home Repair Grants to Tribally owned private homes for
needed repairs, upgrades and maintenance. If you own a home in
Oregon and it needs a little help with things like a worn-out roof
or a tired heating system, get in touch with your Tribal Housing
Authority and see if you and your home qualify. 503-879-2401.
Mothers of Tradition
training set for May
The White Bison Mothers of Tradition training is returning to the Con-
federated Tribes of Grand Ronde on May 20-22 at the Tribal Community
Center, 9615 Grand Ronde Road.
The training’s purpose is to increase awareness of how intergenerational
trauma interrupted the culture, language, family ties and parenting prac-
tices among Native peoples.
Participants will learn how to apply cultural teachings to bring healing
to children and relationships.
The training is free, but people must register to attend. Attendees must
make a three-day commitment and be there from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The training is sponsored by the Tribe’s Behavioral Health Program and
funded by a Meth and Suicide Prevention Initiative grant. n
