Due March 31, 2014 Applications available at: http://nwiha.org/youth-scholarship-program/ CTGR Youth Education Elementary K-5 2014 Summer Program Applications available beginning: April 7, 2014 Applications may be submitted to the Youth Education front desk during the week of April 28 to May 2 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. This week of enrollment into the program is open to all current K-5th grade Tribal, Native and direct-descendant youth whose parents or guardians who will be employed, registered in school, or participating in a training program during the summer months. Applications will not be accepted before this open enrollment time to ensure that all qualifying families and youth have an equal opportunity to sign up and participate. College Placement Testing offered on-site at the Adult Education Building for Chemeketa Community College, Linn-Benton Community College and Mount Hood Community College. The Placement Test is one of the fi rst steps to beginning college classes. Youth ages 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult, 18 or older. • April 3: “Hotel For Dogs” “Get Fired Up for Reading”: This Reading Incentive program started Jan. 15 and ended Feb. 28. We added a dragon scale that named the book title and reader’s name for each book read; 228 books were read by 129 readers. We surpassed last year’s record! Thank you to everyone who participated. We have a participant prize bag for everyone who earned a dragon scale. The Tribal ECE students will receive their prize bag with their class. The Library Dragon will be up for all to see until the end of March. Donations: Many thanks to the following contributors to the library collection: Cataloging is on hold until the collection inven- tory is completed. REMINDER: The library no longer accepts: VHS or cassette tapes and/or paperback books (mass-produced). Donated items must be clean and in good condition. Thank you. The Tribal Library is a CCRLS Circulation Site: Use your Chemeketa Cooperative Regional Library Services library card to place electronic holds on resources in the 18 partner libraries and items will be couriered here for check out and can be checked back in here as well. Inter-Library Loan services: The Tribal Library partners with Oregon State Library to offer “library to library” inter-library loan services. By completing the inter-library loan form, library patrons may request items from the Oregon State Library collection. OSL lending policies apply for return of items.
