Letters
Dear Smoke Signals:
We at the Clothes Closet want to thank all of you who participated in
Youth Education Elementary K5 Program’s Socktoberfest. We were so
surprised at the number of socks you all had collected. We are so appre-
ciative of what people like you do for us.
The clients who received the socks were so thankful and we were sure to
let them know that it was because of you and all the parents and children
who participated in giving. One lady was almost crying as she picked up
her pair of socks. She said that she was going right home and putting on
her socks because the ones she had on had holes in them.
Thank you again.
Kathy Soderberg
(Editor’s note: According to Matt Bucknell, Socktoberfest col-
lected 227 pairs of socks, 20 hand-knit stocking hat beanies, one
pair of winter boots, one pair of mittens and one scarf. They were
all new.)
