Tribe creates Enrollment Tribal Food Summit
to be held in Portland
Audit hotline
The Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde has created an En-
rollment Audit hotline with which to collect frequently asked
questions from the Tribal membership.
The goal of the hotline is to develop a list of commonly asked
questions regarding the audit information that was distributed
in the April Tilixam Wawa.
The answers to those questions will be published in an upcom-
ing Tilixam Wawa, as well as be distributed to the membership
in an information packet.

inquiries regarding yourself or family.

New Year’s Luncheon slated
The Youth Education and Nutrition departments invite Elders, employ-
ees, families and community members to a New Year’s Luncheon at noon
Thursday, Jan. 2, in the Elders’ Activity Center.
Youth will be preparing a variety of traditional New Year’s foods, learn-
ing about the history of each and participating in the meal delivery for
the day.
After lunch, Elders are invited to join in a board game tournament,
which will be held at the Youth Education building.

Below is the most current information on the meeting days and times for
Tribal Committees and Special Event Boards:
• Ceremonial Hunt Board meets as needed. Chair: Marline Groshong.
• Cultural Trust Board meets at 4 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month
at the Elders’ Activity Center. Chair: Perri McDaniel.
• Culture Committee meets at 1 p.m. the first Wednesday of the month
in the Land & Culture Department conference room. Chair: Betty Bly.
• Education Committee meets at 5:15 p.m. on the first Monday of the
month in the Adult Education Building. Chair: Tammy Cook.
• Elders’ Committee meets at 10 a.m. the third Wednesday of the month
in the Elders’ Activity Center. Chair: Gladys Hobbs.
• Enrollment Committee meets quarterly in Room 204 of the Governance
Building. Chair: Robert Schmid.
• Fish & Wildlife Committee meets at 5:30 p.m. the second Tuesday of
the month at the Natural Resources building. Chair: Harold Lyon.

A Tribal Food Summit will be held Wednesday and Thursday, Jan. 8-9,
to bring together Native local food gatherers, producers, manufacturers
and growers.
The summit will be held at the Doubletree Hotel, Lloyd Center, 1000
N.E. Multnomah St.
The educational event is dedicated to connecting emerging youth leaders
with Tribal Elders. There will be a number of keynote speakers who will
discuss the history of Native foods, legal issues and options, and future
solutions, including next steps toward realizing the summit’s motto of
“Protect, Respect, Restore.”

Millie Wahl (Klamath), a volunteer with Red Lodge Transition Services

from Spirit Mountain Community Fund on Thursday, Dec. 19. Wahl
mentors women transitioning out of incarceration and was given the
non-paid volunteer award. The Ye?lan Lima award also is given to a
non-management staff member and will be handed out in mid-January.
