Tribe creates Enrollment
Audit hotline
The Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde has created an En
rollment Audit hotline with which to collect frequently asked
questions from the Tribal membership.
The goal of the hotline is to develop a list of commonly asked
questions regarding the audit information that was distributed
in the April Tilixam Wawa.
The answers to those questions will be published in an upcom
ing Tilixam Wawa, as well as be distributed to the membership
in an information packet.
Please ask general questions only; please do not leave personal
inquiries regarding yourself or family.

Tribal Council voted to continue
the Tribe's membership in the Af
filiated Tribes of Northwest Indi
ans and the National Congress of
American Indians during its Sept.
11 meeting.
Tribal Council voted unanimous
ly with two abstentions to pay the
$2,400 annual membership dues for
the Affiliated Tribes of Northwest
Indians. Tribal Council member
Kathleen Tom was appointed as
the Tribe's principal representative
with the remaining Tribal Council
members named as alternate del
egates. Tribal Council voted 5-1 with two
abstentions to maintain its mem
bership in the National Congress
of American Indians. Tribal Council
Secretary Toby McClary cast the
lone dissenting vote.
The Tribe will pay the $25,000 an
nual membership dues and Tribal
Council member June Sherer was
named principal delegate with all
remaining Tribal Council members
as alternates.
Newly elected Tribal Council
members Denise Harvey and Ed
Pearsall, sitting in their first meet
ing, abstained on both votes.
In other action, Tribal Council:
Approved a resolution support
ing the submission of a Bureau
of Indian Affairs funding request
for enhanced police services.
Approved a resolution incorpo
rating provisions of the Budget
Hearing Ordinance into the Bud
get & Appropriations Ordinance
and then repealed the Budget
Hearing Ordinance.
Approved the Tribe applying to the
Siletz Tribal Charitable Contribu
tion Fund for $10,000 for a carv
ing project for the Grand Ronde
Museum & Cultural Center.
Approved applying for $12,500 in
Tribal Transportation Program
safety funds from the Federal
Highway Administration.
Approved the release of funds
to build a 28-unit apartment
complex across the street from
the Grand Ronde Tribal Housing
Authority building.
Approved the enrollment of one
infant into the Tribe.
Also included in the Sept. 11
Tribal Council packet was an Au
thorization to Proceed for the Land
and Culture Department to submit
a budget request for $27,000 to
develop a Chinuk Wawa language
application in 2014.
Another Authorization to Proceed
approved spending $90,000 to ex
pand the Tribal Council Conference
Room. D

Tribal Committees and Special Event Boards:
Ceremonial Hunt Board meets as needed. Chair: Marline Groshong.
Cultural Trust Board meets at 4 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month
at the Elders' Activity Center. Chair: Perri McDaniel.
Culture Committee meets at 1 p.m. the first Wednesday of the month
in the Land & Culture Department conference room. Chair: Betty Bly.
Education Committee meets at 5:15 p.m. on the first Monday of the
month in the Adult Education Building. Chair: Tammy Cook.
Elders' Committee meets at 1 0 a.m. the third Wednesday of the month
in the Elders' Activity Center. Chair: Gladys Hobbs.
Enrollment Committee meets quarterly in Room 204 of the Governance
Building. Chair: Robert Schmid.
Fish & Wildlife Committee meets at 5:30 p.m. the second Tuesday of
the month at the Natural Resources building. Chair: Harold Lyon.
Health Committee meets at 10 a.m. the second Wednesday of the

Tribal Council voted to re-appoint
three Tribal members to Spir
it Mountain Community Fund's
Board of Trustees at its Sept. 25
meeting.
Tribal member Ron Reibach, who
works as Facilities manager at
Spirit Mountain Casino, and Tribal
Council Chair Reyn Leno and Trib
al Council Secretary Toby McClary
were re-appointed to terms expiring
Sept. 30, 2015.
The Board of Trustees seat va
cated by Steve Bobb Sr., who was
not re-elected to Tribal Council in
the September election, remains
unfilled.
Spirit Mountain Community
Fund is the philanthropic arm of
the Confederated Tribes of Grand
Ronde and distributes 6 percent
of casino profits to nonprofit or
ganizations in 11 northwestern
Oregon counties, as well as to
Oregon's nine federally recognized
Tribes.
In other action, Tribal Council:
Approved the Hodgepodge Log
ging Unit timber sale as present
ed by Natural Resources staff.
Tribal Timber & Roads Program
Manager Jeff Kuust said the
Hodgepodge sale is a two-unit
regeneration harvest that will
take approximately 3.599 million
board feet from the Reservation.
Approved Tribal Court contract
ing with the law firm of Kilpat
rick, Townsend & Stockton for
Tribal code drafting and the
production of updated Tribal
Court rules and information
packets.
Approved memorandums of
agreement with Portland Gen
eral Electric, the Portland Harbor
Natural Resources Council and
Rinearson Natural Area regard
ing habitat restoration projects
occurring at the Portland Harbor
cleanup site.
Approved a memorandum of
agreement with the U.S. De
partment of Veterans Affairs
allowing Tribal veterans access
to the federal Direct Loan Pro
gram. Approved the first reading of a
new Guardianship and Conser
vatorship Ordinance, which will
now go out for public comment.
Approved the enrollment of one
infant into the Tribe.
Also included in the Sept. 25
Tribal Council packet was an au
thorization to proceed to install
a carving sculpture in the Gover
nance Center Atrium.
Staff also was directed to pre
pare match documentation for the
Tillamook County Transportation
District's Intercity Transit grant
from the Oregon Transit Division
that will provide three round-trips
per day between Lincoln City and
Grand Ronde.
The trips will be offered Monday
through Friday and stop at Spirit
Mountain Casino and the Grand
Ronde Tribal campus. D
