Tribe creates Enrollment
Audit hotline
The Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde has created an En
rollment Audit hotline with which to collect frequently asked
questions from the Tribal membership.
The goal of the hotline is to develop a list of commonly asked
questions regarding the audit information that was distributed
in the April Tilixam Wawa.
The answers to those questions will be published in an upcom
ing Tilixam Wawa, as well as be distributed to the membership
in an information packet.

inquiries regarding yourself or family.

Tribal Committees and Special Event Boards:
Ceremonial Hunt Board meets as needed. Chair: Marline Groshong.
Cultural Trust Board meets at 4 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month
in Modular No. 2. Chair: Perri McDaniel.
Culture Committee meets at 1 p.m. the first Wednesday of the month
in the Land & Culture Department conference room. Acting Chair: Betty
Bly.
Education Committee meets at 5:15 p.m. on the first Monday of the
month in the Adult Education Building. Chair: Tammy Cook.
Elders' Committee meets at 1 0 a.m. the third Wednesday of the month
in the Elders' Activity Center. Chair: Gladys Hobbs.
Enrollment Committee meets quarterly in Room 204 of the Governance
Building. Chair: Robert Schmid.
Fish & Wildlife Committee meets at 5:30 p.m. the second Tuesday of
the month at the Natural Resources building. Chair: Harold Lyon.

Council OKs contract for
women's transition house

Tribal Council approved a con
struction contract on the renova
tion and addition project to the
planned Women's Transition House
in Grand Ronde at its Wednesday,
July 3, meeting.
The contract, valued at $728,97 1 ,
is with Advanced Native Construc
tion of Aumsville, which is owned
by a Siletz Tribal member.
According to the recent request
for bids that ran in Smoke Signals,
the Women's Transition House
will receive a full renovation and
a 2,135-square-foot one-story ad
dition that will blend in with the
existing house.
Site work will include creat
ing a small paved parking area,
off-street turnaround, perimeter
fencing, ramp access to the main
floor, garden space, a small stor
age shed and trash enclosure, play
equipment and drought-resistant
landscaping.
In other action, Tribal Council:

dette Parazoo to the Health Com
mittee; Appointed Opal Hale and re
appointed Joy Burcham to the
Rodeo Special Event Board;
Re-appointed Alan Ham to the
Social Services Committee;
Appointed Laura Gleason to the
Enrollment Committee;
Re-appointed Bobby Mercier
to the Powwow Special Event
Board;
Approved the enrollment of two
infants into the Tribe;
Approved applying to the Bureau
of Indian Affairs to take several
properties into the trust for the
Tribe, including the Cemetery
Annex 2, Stimson local property,
the HR Jones property, the Jahn
property, the Thompson property,
the Bode property and the Mc

this year's Elder Honor Day on Tuesday, July 1 6, as she judges them in
the Governance Center Atrium on Friday, July 1 2. The categories that
Tribal Council members judged the baskets on was best overall, most
creative both won by the Health & Wellness Department and
best theme, won by the Finance and Audit departments. Tribal Council

Community members wanted
The Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde's 477 Employment and Training
Program and Land and Culture Department have resources that can be utilized
along with community members who have a passion for gardening or want to
learn the art of agriculture. If you are a Grand Ronde Tribal community member
and want to be a part of the planning, preparation and cultivation of the Tribal
garden and orchard site for next year's planting season, contact Barbara Gibbons

Limited space is available and is based on a first-come, first
serve basis to CTGR Tribal, Native American, or
Descendent students who are currently in K-5th grade.
Program includes transportation from Willamina Elemen
tary School, healthy snacks, and a variety of educational,
recreational and cultural activities.
