Graduation ceremony to be held
The CTGR Education Division Graduation Ceremony will be held6 p.m.
Friday, June 21 at the Tribal gym. Dinner will be provided.

Grand Ronde Head Start (0-5)Preschool is now accepting applica
tions for children ages 0-5 years old and expectant mothers for the
2013-14 school year. Completed applications must be received no later
than June 28 at 3 p.m. Selection will take place July 12.

LIBRARY HOURS:
Monday - Friday: 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
(closed Monday - Friday: noon - 1 p.m.)
Saturday: 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
SUMMER PROGRAMS: The Tribal Library will offer summer
programs beginning June 17 and running through July 31. This
year's theme is "Dig into Reading." This is the Collaborative Regional
Library Theme that will be used by libraries across the nation this
year. The library will host the Reading Incentive Program, weekly
activity stations and two theme activity sessions. Promotion for
the summer programs began on Saturday, April 27, at the annual
Healthy Families event sponsored by Tribal programs on campus
and at the gym.
. Reading Incentive Program: Registration is required. Regis
tration is open April 27 through June 15. Applications are available
at the Library. Reading Incentive is for ages 4 to 17. Participants
earna"book buck" for each book read at their reading level and
they can enter a drawing for other prizes. The Library Book Buck
Store will open on July 15 and be open until the program ends on
July 31 for youth to spend their book bucks.
Activity Stations: Theme-related activities and displays will be
set up in the library. The theme will change each week of the six
week program and will feature:
1. Animals the Dig;
2. Root Gardens;
3. Archeology for Kids;
4. Fossil Finds;
5. Rock On;
6. And Tracing our Roots.
Activity Sessions: Sessions will be held on Saturday, June
29 and July 13, from noon to 2 p.m.
June 29: "Digging Up the Past"; All ages welcome (12 and under
must have adult supervision).
July 13: "Digging for Treasure"; All ages welcome (12 and under
must have adult supervision).
Library Cultural Exhibit: A cultural exhibit will be assembled
in the Library on June 3-5 that displays Tribal Museum artifacts.
The exhibit items will complement the Summer Program theme,
"Dig into Reading." Cultural Exhibits and Archive staff Julie Brown
and Veronica Montano will assemble the exhibit. Opening of the
exhibit will occur on the evening of June 6 at the annual Education
Division Summer Kick-off event held at the education facilities.
Donations: We appreciate the following contributors to the library
collection during this reporting period: Our thanks to Chris Mercier,
Genifer Grout and family, Elders' Activity Center, Penny Topel at
the Sheridan Library, Books Are Fun vendor and the Tribe's Legal
Department. Donated items have been cataloged and are shelved
for circulation. They are great additions to the collection.
Reminder: Donations must be clean; no cassettes, VHS or
mass-produced paperback books please.
Reminder: The Tribal Library is a CCRLS Circulation Site: Use
your Chemeketa Cooperative Regional Library Services library card
to conduct electronic holds on resources in the 18 partner libraries
and items will be couriered here for check out and can be checked
in as well.
