'Dances With Roses' will
represent casino this year

Spirit Mountain Casino has been
title sponsor of the Rose Festival
Grand Floral Parade for three
years.
Tribal Council member and artist
Steve Bobb Sr. has this year com
pleted his fifth Tribal float design.
"They hit you with the theme
early this year Portland's Party
but I was thinking, thinking,
thinking, and nothing was coming
to me at all," Bobb said.
He started in late December when
word of the theme was announced.
"I kind of struggled," he said, "but
like everything, it hit me in the
middle of the night. Bam!"

Royal Rosarian
uniforms.
"I took the
fountain, the
Salmon Street
fountain. I used that and took two
shawl dancers dancing from Tribal
photographs. I made the colors
match the Royal Rosa nans' colors,
the off-white suits with burgundy
capes, so the shawls are burgundy;
the dancers' regalia is off-white,
with Tribal-looking flowers on front
and back of the regalia."
The dancers will turn in place.
The music is the title track from
Native American Music Awards
Yamhill County seeking
volunteer drivers
Yamhill County is seeking volunteer drivers to transport local veterans
to the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Portland.
Volunteers are unpaid, but a meal is provided for their time.

Volleyball nights held on Wednesdays
. The Tribe's Recreation Program holds open volleyball from 5 to 7 p.m.
Wednesday in the Tribal gym.
Volleyball is open to anyone who wishes to participate.

"We found a flute song with some
upbeat guitar music," said Bobb.
"Another of his tracks had chimes.
I really liked them, so we used
them. We went to his studio and put
together the song with the chimes
added."
Huge roses will circle the base of
the float. A fountain is in the center
with flowers, instead of water, cas
cading down as the dancers circle.
In a play on the title of the movie
"Dances With Wolves," Bobb calls
this year's float "Dances With
Roses."
"It's a Native American theme
tied around the Rose Festival
theme," he said.
Bobb's designs have received
awards year after year at the Rose
Festival. In 2009, his work earned
the Golden Rose Award; in 2010,
the Al Reser Sweepstakes Award;
and in 2011 and 2012, the Spirit
Mountain Casino float won the
President's Award.
A lifelong artist, Bobb's work also
has won many other awards over
the years. In the 1981-82 season
of the International Show Car As
sociation, Bobb's rebuild of a 1936
Ford won both the Pacific Division
Championship and the Interna
tional Championship in the Custom
Street Coupe class.
This is the last year under the
existing agreement for the casino
to serve as title sponsor, but the
sponsorship has served the Tribe
well, Bobb said, and Tribal Council
will consider a new agreement fol
lowing this year's event.
The sponsorship, Bobb said, "worked
out to our benefit. We were able to use
it as a vehicle to let a lot of people
in the Portland area know that the
Grand Ronde are also the people of
this area. We've been able to do that
very well. I've spoken at events and
passed that message on."

this year on Saturday, June 8.
"It's been quite an honor for me to
use my ideas and my design," Bobb
said. "I have been given a gift from
my creator that flows through me.
I am obligated to share this gift
with all." O

RE: RABBI TRUST FUND AND MINORS' CUSTODIAL TRUST
FUND
This letter serves to inform you of the upcoming annual election
opportunity to recommend an investment option that best suits your
tolerance for investment risk. The election deadline is May 17, 2013,
and the investment period will be effective from June 1, 2013, to May
31,2014.
Recognizing that each Tribal member's tolerance for investment risk
maybe different, on August 1, 2009, the Tribal Council of Confederated
Tribes of the Grand Ronde Community of Oregon permitted parents of
minor members age 17 or younger having balances in the Rabbi Trust
Fund and Minors' Custodial Trust Fund, or members age 18 or older
to recommend that these funds be invested in one out of five possible
investment options. A brief description of each investment option is
enclosed with this letter.
The information on pages 4 and 5 describes both the risk associated
with each investment option, as well as the investment securities and
investment style reflected in each alternative.
The five possible investment options are as follows:
Option 1: Age Based Allocations
Option 2: Fixed Allocation Low Risk No Stock All Ages
H Option 3: Fixed Allocation Stocks 20 Fixed Income 80 All Ages
Option 4: Fixed Allocation Stocks 40 Fixed Income 60 All Ages
Option 5: Fixed Allocation Stocks 60 Fixed Income 40 All Ages
If you are satisfied with your minor's current investment option, you
do not need to respond.
But, if you wish to change the investment option you previously
recommended or if your minor was enrolled as a member of the Tribe
after May 14, 2012, please complete the Investment Risk Assessment
Recommendation Form to recommend that the funds be invested in one
of the above investment options. One election form must be completed
for each minor member. If the member has funds in both trusts, this
election will apply to investments in both trusts.
An informational meeting has been scheduled to provide an op
portunity for you and other Tribal members to gain information and
ask questions regarding the investment options:

ence Center (before General Council meeting), 1000 Valley River Way,
Eugene, OR 97401
A member of the Tribe's investment consulting team from Robert W.
Baird & Co. will be present at the meeting to answer your questions.
If you are unable to attend this meeting, you may still speak with a
member of the Tribe's investment consulting team by contacting the
office of Joseph S. Hoon at 877-792-3667 between the hours of 8 a.m.
and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Please note: If you do decide to change your minor's current invest
ment option or you need to recommend a first time investment op
tion for your newly enrolled minor, the Investment Risk Assessment
Recommendation Form must be received by Trautmann, Maher &
Associates (the third party administrator of the trust funds) no later
than 5 p.m. May 17, 2013. If this form has not been received by that
date, your minor's funds will either remain in their currently invested
option or be invested in the default option (Option 1 Age Based Al
locations). The conversion for the new investment changes will begin May 18,
2013, and is scheduled to be completed by June 1. After this date, the
next opportunity to change your investment election will be May 1,
2014.
