Applications being accepted
Jan. 2 for Grandfamily housing
A Grandfamily is defined as: A family, whose head or spouse is
Elder, containing minor children in the legal long-term custody or
guardianship of the Elder. A Grandfamily shall not include any
other adults under the age of 55 (including the parent(s) of the
minor children).
If your family fits this definition, qualifies as low income and you
are interested in moving into our new Grandfamily units, which
are part of Elders' Housing Phase II, we will start accepting ap
plications on Jan. 2, 2013.
You can pick up your application at the Grand Ronde Tribal
Housing Authority offices at 28450 Tyee Road, Grand Ronde, Ore.,
97347. If you cannot come into the offices to pick up your applica
tion you may call the front desk at 503-879-2401 and an application
will be mailed to you.
Make sure you specifically request the application for "Grand
family Housing."
Applications will be handled on a first-come, first-serve basis
starting Jan. 2, 2013. It is important that applicants provide all re
quested documentation at the time they submit the application.

craft show on Dec. 1 5
Chemawa Indian School, 3700 Chemawa Road N.E., Salem, will hold a
craft show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, in the school gym.
Admission will be a donation of canned food andor Campbell's soup
labels.
The event will feature handcrafted gifts and is sponsored by the Che
mawa Powwow Club.

Girls Lock-In set for Dec. 7
A Girls Lock-In for sixth- through 12-grade girls will be held from
5:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 7, through 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at the
Tribal Youth Education facility.
Activities will include a pizza party, obstacle course, staff makeover,
"Jeopardy" contest, 4-corners, talking circle, midnight campus walk,
movie, breakfast and fire pit release ceremony.

College sponsors Dec. 6
necklace-making class
A necklace-making class sponsored by Northwest Indian College will
be held from noon to 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, in the Adult Education
Building's GED classroom.
The class is free with all supplies and lunch provided. Tribal member
Julie Logan will teach the class.
The class is limited to the first 12 people who sign up. Federally recog
nized Tribal members will receive preference.
