Grand Ronde on Monday, Jan. 16. Winter weather, including snow and
heavy rains, hit the Grand Ronde community in mid-January, which
made for fun for local children to play in tha snow, but also caused
problems. Downed trees on Highway 18 caused a portion of the
route to the Oregon coast to be closed at Grand Ronde Road heading
west for a few days. Inclement weather and threats of flooding also
prompted the Tribal Executive Office to start the work day two hours
late on Jan. 1 7 and send employees home early on Jan. 1 8-1 9.
