Kathy Cola, Tribal Cultural Rasourcas Dapartmant program managar and Tribal mambar,
makas a hola to plant a camas bulb in t ha Tyaa Natura Rasarva, located behind tha Grand
Ronda Tribal Housing Authority building in Grand Ronda, on Friday, Nov. 18. Tha Tribe's
Cultural Rasourcas and Natural Rasourcas departments partnered with the Institute for
Applied Ecology for the planting. The institute supplied 4,000 camas bulbs for the planting;
2,000 bulbs were harvested from the Corvallis Plant Materials Center and the other 2,000
were ordered from a local nursery. Tribal Biologist Rebecca McCoun and Melania Gisler,
a restoration ecologist with the Institute, also helped plant the bulbs along with some
additional volunteers Gisler brought. Juncus and tarweed ware also planted in the reserve.

Center will soon be planted in the Tyea Nature Reserve.
