Restoration group socles volunteers
The Tribe's 28th Restoration Celebration Committee is seeking
volunteers to help plan this year's event to be held in November.
If you are interested in helping, submit your name and contact
information to publicaffairsgrandronde.org or call the Tribe's Public
Affairs Office at 503-879-1418.
The 28th anniversary of the Tribe's Restoration is Nov. 22, 2011,
although the event may be held on Sunday, Nov. 20, because of the
Thanksgiving holiday, which occurs on Nov. 24 this year. D
Education slatos Oct. 5 open house
The 2011 Education Division Open House will be held from 5:30 to 7:30
p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, in the Tribal gym.
There will be a free barbecue dinner beginning at 5:30 p.m. This is an
opportunity to visit with staff from the following Education programs:
Head StartPreschool, Youth Education K-12, KindergartenChinuk Wawa
Language Immersion, Adult Education and the Tribal Library.
There also will be prizes and a book giveaway.
All are welcome, but children must be accompanied by an adult. D
Chinuk Wawa classes offered
The Tribal Cultural Education Department offers adult Chinuk
Wawa language classes from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Monday and Wednesday
in Room 207 of the Tribal Education Building.
Language classes can be taken for college credit or for fun.

Zumlba held Monday,
Wednesday Dim gym
Zumba, an easy-to-follow, Latin-inspired and calorie-burning dance fit
ness party, is held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday and Wednesday in the
Tribal gymnasium. The first class is free and $6 thereafter for drop-ins, or
$5 if participants purchase a punch card. For more information, contact
Tribal Recreation Coordinator Alton Butler at 503-879-1369. B
Tribal offices will be closed Friday, Sept. 23, in observance of Na
tional Indian Day.
