Anthony Joseph Lane
Feb. 5, 1959 - May 28, 2011
Tribal member Anthony Tony" Joseph Lane, 52, a resident of
Dallas, walked on while fishing on the Willamette River on Thurs
day, May 5, and was recovered from the river on Saturday, May 28,
2011.
He was born on Feb. 5, 1959, in Schurz, Nev., the son of David Leroy
and Renee La Rose Lawe Lane. He attended Englewood and Parrish
schools and graduated from North Salem High School in 1977. He
played on the football team that went to the state tournament.
Tony graduated from Chemeketa Community College with an as
sociate degree in electronics. He was working as a network engineer
for Spirit Mountain Casino.
He had a passion for fishing, boating, motorcycles and scuba diving.
He enjoyed coaching his son's Little League baseball and football
teams. Tony was good with wood and made many things along with
the ability to fix just about anything. He had a happy, caring, outgo
ing and helpful personality. He was a member of the Confederated
Tribes of Grand Ronde.
He is survived by his son, Joseph of Dallas; granddaughter, Alice;
parents, David and Renee of Salem; brother, Reynold of Tucson,
Ariz.; and sister, Faye Miller of Willamina, along with several nieces
and nephews.
A funeral service was held Friday, June 3, in the Grand Ronde
Tribal gymnasium. Interment followed in the Grand Ronde Tribal
Cemetery.

Now on summer hours,' the Grand Ronde Saddle Club is open from 10
a.m. to 4 p.m. daily near the former Grand Ronde Food Bank west of Grand
Ronde Road. Everyone is invited to visit the horses and go for a ride.
In addition, the Saddle Club has scheduled two weeklong Pony Day
Camps between June 27-July 1 and July 11-15. The camp costs $125 and
will help raise funds for the club's operation and care of the horses.

Eugene Tribal Wellness Program meets
The Eugene Tribal Wellness Program meets at 10 a.m. Monday, Wednesday
and Thursday in the satellite office at 711 Country Club Road, Suite 1A.
All fitness levels are welcome. The program covers strength, cardio and
stretching, and discusses strategies for healthy living at home.
The program is free to Tribal members and their spouses.
