Down Payment Assistance Program
The Grand Ronde Tribal Housing Authority (GRTHA) has 2011
Down Payment Assistance available for applicants with moderate
to low incomes. Although the budget for Tribally funded Down
Payment Assistance has been committed for 201 1, HUD funds may
be available for qualified Tribal applicants whose gross household
income either meets, or is less than the guidelines below:

The Grand Ronde Tribal Housing Authority is accepting ap
plications for Rental Housing Units in Grand Ronde
1-5 bedroom sized units, many upgrades, parkingstorage close
to Tribal services.
The units include washerdryer, refrigerator, dishwasher, in
floor radiant heat, private patio and great views. If you work for
the Tribe or casino, you pay no State Income Tax!
The following screening criteria is required for the Market
Rate Units: Credit history, landlord history, criminal history,
income (at least 3 times monthly rent). One adult member of the
household must be an enrolled CTGR Tribal member.
HUD assisted rental applicants must meet low-income and
other federal requirements.

Tribal member Anthony Lane, 52,
of Dallas has gone missing while
fishing in the Willamette River
and the Tribe is helping in efforts
to find him.
According to a press release from
the Polk County Sheriffs Office,
Lane was anchored in the Willa
mette River near river mile 107.5,
approximately one mile south of the
Buena Vista Ferry, on Thursday,
May 5.
Lane was fishing alone and is
thought to have fallen overboard
while trying to dislodge his an
chor. A nearby boater said he
heard shouts of "Hey" and upon
investigating found Lane's boat
unoccupied.
The Sheriffs Office responded to
a water rescue call at 11:52 a.m.
along with Marion County Sheriffs
Office personnel, Salem Fire, Polk
1 Fire, Jefferson Fire, Albany Fire
and Oregon State Police.
Using boats, rescue personnel
searched the area, but did not find
Lane. A Newberg Fire Department
dive team was called to the location
and a diver was hampered by the
river's strong currents and deter
mined that the diving conditions
were unsafe.
At approximately 5:25 p.m., the
search was suspended and all units
left the scene.

lic Information Officer Dean Bender
said that a possible siting occurred
the next day from a pilot flying over
the area, but it turned out to be a
lounge chair floating in the river.
"This is not a closed case for us,"
Bender said. "He is still a missing
person and we're following up on
leads."
Since May 5, the Tribe has dis
patched a boat to the scene to
search for Lane, and there are
plans to get a spotter plane to assist
in the search.

Mountain Casino, where he had
worked since May 1998. D

Staffing Pool is accepting applications.
Tribal members, descendants, spouses of Tribal members,
parents of a Tribal member, and legal guardians of Grand
Ronde Tribal member children interested in assisting with
filling temporary vacancies on an "on-calF or an "extended
duration basis are encouraged to contact the CTGR
Human Resources office. Employment applications are
