Medicare Part B reimbursement
notice for Tribal members
If you are a Grand Ronde Tribal member, have reached the age
of retirement (65) or have started to receive Social Security Retire
ment or disability benefits through Social Security (SSD); you may
be eligible to receive Medicare Part B benefits through the Tribe.
To find out if you are eligible, or to get enrolled in Medicare Part B,
please do the following; call toll-free 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227)
or go online at www.medicare.gov. You will need to request
an application for enrollment in Medicare Part B and return it to
your local Social Security Office.
Once you are enrolled in Medicare Part B through Social Security,
you will need to call our office to request a Medicare Part B Reim
bursement packet to apply. As a Grand Ronde Tribal member, the
Tribe will reimburse your Medicare Part B premium each month
at the standard rate.
Note: If you are currently on the Skookum Tribal Health Plan it is
required that you accept Medicare Part B when you become eligible.
By not accepting Medicare Part B, your coverage for medical expenses
could be drastically reduced.

or have any questions regarding the Tribes reimbursement program,

Cultural Resources holding classes
The Tribe's Cultural Resources Department is holding cultural classes
this spring.
In March, the schedule includes Fish Clubs on March 17-18 and Leisters
on March 24-25.
There is a maximum class size of 10 per class and an overflow list will
be kept in case of cancelations.
People interested in taking the classes should contact Brian Krehbiel at

Spring sweat scheduled
A Spring Equinox Sweat will be held at noon Sunday, March 20, at the
Willamina home of Kathy and Don Provost. The Provosts also continue
to seek sweat lodge cover donations. For more information, contact Tribal
Elder Kathy Provost at 503-857-8440. D
CuDtural Trust Board
seeks applicants
The Tribal Cultural Trust Board is beginning its 201 1 grant-making
round. Grants ranging from $250 to a maximum of $1,000 are
available for Tribal members to use for cultural projects.
The grant-making round opened Feb. 15 and lasts through the
end of March.
Interested Tribal members can pick up an application packet at
the front desk of the Tribal Governance Center or call Cultural Trust
Board Chair Perri McDaniel at 541-484-7085 to have an application
packet mailed.
Completed applications must be received by 3 p.m. Thursday,
March 31. D
